#VFS-MM183 Victorian 18K Amethyst Dangle Demi-Parure
This is a showy Victorian period 18K and amethyst pin and earring set! Done in yellow gold and decorated with ornate engraving and Etruscan Revival bobbles and goldwork, the brooch is crafted in three sections – the large top is adorned with a spray of gold flowers and foliage and finished with 11 old mine cut Siberian amethysts in a rich violet hue with flashes of pink and magenta. From this drops a smaller pendant, decorated with more amethysts and it ends in a single stone held with engraved gold leaves. The dangle earrings repeat the theme and have an additional 6 stones each. Total gem weight is approximately 2.70 carats of top quality antique stones.
The brooch measures 3 ¼” long x 1 ¼” wide and is fitted with t-bar hinge, “c” clasp and extended pinstem, as well as with a pendant bale. The earrings are 2 ¼” x 1/2” and have later, shepherd hook tops. All three pieces are in over all good condition given the age. Each has scattered small dings to the back, one of the earrings has a small tear to the gold on the back only (not visible from the front) and there is evidence of old lead solder, mostly noticeably on the pin where the pendant bale is attached and reinforcing the clasp, with a little peeking out the side. Circa 1880, certified to be as described and authentic antique jewelry.

#BN13 - CH Sterling Enamel Violets Sash Pin
This is another wonderful sterling sash pin, measuring 2 ¾” x 1 ¾” and designed with 7 lavender flowers that I think are violets, with accents of green leaves. The back is gilded and the workmanship is exquisite, the colors are rich and bright, just a great piece for the enamel or sash pin collector. Just as a side note, the Victorians used violets as a symbol of faithfulness. It is hallmarked with an entwined “CH” – we think the mark is for Hemming Manufacturing Co. of Montreal Canada - working from 1909-1916. In excellent condition, with absolutely no wear to note – a real gem! Certified to be as described and to be authentic estate jewelry.

#RFP-MM181 Rare Large Jazz Age Nude Cameo Signed & Dated
Mounted simply in polished 14K, the star of this showy pin/pendant is certainly the star of this piece. The carving depicts a nude woman gamboling in the forest – such an unusual subject! Artist signed with initials (looks like an entwined CHP) and dated 1926, this is a large piece, measuring 2 5/16” x 1 7/16”. The frame (which I think is later than the carving) is unmarked but tested 14K, it has a simple “c” clasp and heavy fold over bale. In excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or hairlines, some softening to the carving the only item to note and it could use a cleaning. It weighs 8.7 dwt (13.5 grams).
When I first saw this, for some reason I immediately thought of Daisy Buchanan or Zelda Fitzgerald, the subject’s bobbed hair is so indicative of the Jazz Age and I can imagine F. Scott and Zelda playing nude hide and seek in the woods : ) Anyway, no matter the subject, it is an unusual cameo sure to please! Certified to be as described and to be authentic antique jewelry.

#RSE-MM195 Pietra Negra Tono Taxco Mixed Metal Inlaid Earrings
Great design in these long dangling earrings constructed of sandwiched layers of silver, onyx and brass and then inlaid with onyx, silver and turquoise. They are signed “Pietra Negra”, “Tono”, the initials “AC” in a circle marked Hecho en Mexico Sterling Taxco 925 and a design number of T177 long dangle Mexican mixed metals earrings are. The mark is a bit of a puzzle – “Pietra Negra” translates to black stone, I have seen other Tono pieces, all mixed metals, with this mark and a suspect it was the name of the line using the black stone? A bit of research on the internet did little to enlighten me, no matter really, because they are just way cool! They measure 11/16” wide and are a whopping 3” long from the top of the later ear wire They weigh 9.7dwt (15 grams) and are in excellent condition, though really need a polish – had to sit on my hands to avoid doing it, as I prefer to let the new owner polish to taste. Unsure of the exact age, there is little info on the Tono signature, but certified to be as described!
