#VFP-B3028 Exceptional 14K Victorian Micromosaic - Vatican City

This magnificent example of Victorian micromosaic work depicts an amazing rendition of Vatican City. It looks like a little watercolor with the realistic detail and soft colors! Certainly a souvenir of someone’s Grand Tour, it was obviously done by a master and I imagine it cost a fortune. Bordered in black onyx border and mounted in a good, Etruscan granulated 18K yellow gold frame, the mosaic measures 1” x Ύ” and the overall size is 1 Ύ” x 1 ½”. The minute tiles feel as smooth as glass to the touch and there are even a few tiny people in the foreground. In excellent condition, with no missing tesserae (pindot nick to the onyx surround the only item to note), fitted with the original “c” clasp and t-bar hinge. Unmarked, but tested and guaranteed 14K, circa 1880. Certified to be as described and to be authentic antique jewelry.

#ESP-MM226 Norway Sterling Scenic Enamel Brooch

Marked and tested sterling as well as a maker’s mark of “SW” I do not recognize, it weighs 4.2 dwt (6.5 grams). #DSW-B1939 Whimsical Deco Sterling Cherub Coach Watch Pin

Oh how fun – I am in love with this pin! A darling little cherub or putti, blowing a horn and driving a horse drawn carriage in the shape of a heart and crown – surely pulling royalty! The detail is fantastic, done in 935 silver (probably German in origin, a grade up from sterling) and encrusted with marcasites, there is even a marcasite on the top of the horn! The horses have red eyes, the wheels turn! and the brooch is three dimensional and stands on it’s own, making it wonderful for display when not being worn. I am not done yet, though, the coach hides a wonderful little 17 jewel Swiss watch. Measuring 2 ½” x 1 Ό”, it weighs 17.2 dwt or 26.7 grams. c. 1930, heavy pinback and strong clasp. Exceptional workmanship, in overall excellent condition – the only fault is the watch is currently not running, but may just need a cleaning. So hard to resist!

#DSN-3043 Jugendstil Jeweled Enamel Theodor Fahrner Necklace

A wonderful find from the highly collected German jewelry firm of Theodor Fahrner– a Jugendstil enameled dangle necklace with genuine peridot gems and seed pearl accents. Hard to describe, even for me, it features an arched center plaque with openwork silver and soft green and white enamel. From this dangles bezel mounted faceted peridots and tiny seed pearls and it is topped with a peridot as well. The pictures do NOT do it justice, this is just an amazing necklace! The center measures 1 ½” x 1 Ό” and the overall length is 17”. In excellent condition, with no wear to note, the only thought is the chain may be a replacement, but it is period and works well. Circa 1910, just a wonderful example of why Fahrner’s work is so sought after, certified to be as described and to be authentic antique jewelry.
