#ECP - MM157 Carved Horn Moth Brooch

A cool example of an antique carved horn brooch done in the form of a moth or maybe a dragonfly? Doesn’t it have the cutest little face? : ) Georges Pierre and Elisabeth Bonte both popularized horn carving in jewelry in France at the turn of the century. They started out as rivals, but ended up becoming partners and working together until the mid-30’s. This brooch is unsigned, so cannot be attributed to any particular artist, but is definitely of the period – c. 1920 or so. It measures 1 5/16” x 2 1/8” and has a set in pinback. In very good condition, with no chips, cracks or other damage.
