#EFP-B3015 14K Edwardian Essex Horse Crystal
A quite handsome, equine themed reverse rock crystal pin, featuring the profile of a gorgeous brown steed framed with crossed gold riding crops. Backed in mother of pearl, the portrait is very fine - this is a good example of this art, which originated in Belgium. Commonly referred to as “Essex Crystals”, the technique consisted of the artist cutting a piece of rock crystal as a domed cabochon, then carving an intaglio (typical subjects were horses, dogs and sporting birds) on the flat back. This was then painted in very fine detail and mounted as jewelry. The deeper the carving, the more pronounced the three-dimensional effect. This example measures 1 11/16” x 7/8”, with a 20mm crystal. It weighs 7.9 dwt (12.28 grams) and is done in marked and tested 14K gold. Fitted with an early safety clasp, it is in excellent condition, with no wear to note. Circa 1920, certified to be as described and to be authentic antique jewelry.

#1461 - 14K Yellow Gold Krementz Co. Bangle Bracelet
The Krementz Company of New Jersey was founded by George Krementz in 1866 and was jointly owned by the Krementz and Lister families. Krementz was an original manufacturer of men’s gold jewelery that included studs and collar buttons, cuff buttons, tie clasps, and cufflinks. At the same time Krementz was exploding with its collar button sales, the company employed jewelers who specialized in designing by hand fashionable, exquisite karat gold, colored stone, and enamel jewelry for women. Known more for gold fill and gold overlay pieces, karat gold pieces are harder to find, though Krementz jewelry was never inexpensively priced because of the excellent workmanship, designs and detailing. Still in existence, Richard Krementz has renamed the firm Richard Krementz Gemstones and specializes in fine 18K and platinum jewelry with exotic colored gemstones
This is a great 14K gold, engine turned bangle that does not open, but slides over the hand. It is a great, wearable size with an inside measurement of 2 1/2", easily fitting most wrists. It is set with three, estimated .10 point European cut diamonds which are bezel mounted closed back and two natural blue sapphires. In very good condition, with the only fault one sapphire has a tiny nick and very slight abrasion viewed only with a loupe. A nice weight at 11 dwt (17.1 grams), fully hallmarked 14K and the Krementz mark.
