#BJ3589 - Unusual Victorian 18K Stone? Cameo
A quite unusual cameo brooch, depicting I think Aphrodite, Zeus as an eagle and Cupid – three generations of Greek gods. Framed in 18K yellow gold with an elaborate Etruscan Revival frame, we have been unable to definitively identify the cameo material – it is either hard stone or a very unusual shell. It is translucent, and the white showing on the back is part of the natural material. The brooch measures 1 5/16” x 1 1/16” and it weighs 9.3 grams. In excellent condition, with absolutely no wear, all the bobbles and wirework are intact and there are no chips or cracks to the cameo. Original “c” clasp, unmarked, but tested and guaranteed 18K. Certified to be as described and to be authentic antique jewelry.

#VFP-MM218 Lovely Victorian 14K Yellow Enamel Violet Pin
A traditional Victorian enamel flower pin the form of a delicate violet. Done on 14K, the enameling ranges from a lush green on the ends of the curled petals, fading to soft yellow in the center and ending in a creamy 4mm pearl. In the “Language of Flowers”, a yellow violet represents “rural happiness” – I have no idea what that means – maybe happy to live in the country? Unusual, to say the least! Anyway, the brooch measures 1 1/8” and is hallmarked with an unknown maker’s mark. It is tested and guaranteed 14K and weighs 3.1 dwt (4.8 grams). Fitted with a “c” clasp and extended pinstem, in very good condition with no repairs or other wear to note. Circa 1900, certified to be as described and to be authentic antique jewelry.

#VFP-MM197 Antique 18K Enamel Diamond Swiss Watch and Watchpin
A wonderful find, a vibrant green enamel pin and companion pendant watch. Both are 18K and are decorated with sprays of rose cut diamonds in a stunning floral motif, the back of the watch has pearls scrolls as well. The pin has a beautifully engraved gold border surrounded the enamel ground, which has five chunky rose cut diamonds measuring 4mm each and array of 22 smaller diamonds. The watch has tiny gold scrolls bordering the enamel and the center holds 29 rose cut diamonds (1-2mm) to the front and 48 pearls (1-2mm pearls) on the back with even more ornate gold scrollwork.
The pin measures 1 ½” and is fitted to the back with the original “c” clasp, t-bar hinge and chatelaine hook. It weighs 8.7 dwt (13.5 grams) and is in excellent, all original condition with no wear to the enamel or any faults to note.
The watch measures 1.2” and weighs 14.5 dwt (22.5 grams). I has a clean white enamel dial with black Roman numeral markers. The inside case is hallmarked “EW & Co., 18K”, along with being ornately engraved with the Swiss maker “J. C. Ledmole” (for John C. Ledmole), then “I Geneve, Aiquillis Nov 13311, Echappenient A Cylindre Huit Trous EN RUBIS.”. The ruby jeweled works look clean, but we do not have the key and do not know if it works. The person we bought it from stated it does, but you are buying it as found.
The overall condition is very fine, especially given the age and it is amazing that both the pin and watch have stayed together all these years. There has been some enamel restoration to the diamond side of the watch only. Circa 1900, certified to be as described and to be authentic antique jewelry.

#VFE-MM213 Victorian 14K Beetle Pin and Earring Set
The Victorians loved anything related to nature and it is not uncommon to find all manners of creatures incorporated into jewelry from that era. They saw the beauty in everything, including, yes, bugs and beetles of all sorts. This demi-parure is a textbook example, with real beetles mounted in gold atop realistically wrought leaves. The beetles are dark but have a shimmering iridescence in the light and the workmanship is great – love the little gold legs and antenna! The leaves are beautifully with delicate engraving, a showy set that is sure to be a conversation starter. The pin measures 1 ½” x 1” and is fitted with a t-bar hinge, “c” clasp and extended pinstem, as well as an added chatelaine hook for a watch or a pendant. The earrings are 1” x ¾” and have locking wire backs for pierced ears. Unmarked, but tested and guaranteed 14K. In excellent condition, with the only fault someone snipped a little bit out of the gold to test it (not us), the beetles have remained amazingly intact. Circa 1900, certified to be as described and to be authentic antique jewelry.
