Mouth watering natural aquamarines are nestled amongst engraved 14K yellow gold leaves in this lovely Retro era necklace and bracelet set. Clusters of aquas in a floral motif adorn the centerpiece of the necklace, the bracelet has alternating gems and leaves. Each oval gem ranges in size from 5mm x 7.6mm to 6mm x 7.4mm. Both the bracelet and necklace have 8 stones each - the bracelet measures 7 1/16 x 3/8, the necklace 14 Ύ x 11/16. The set weighs 8.6 dwt (13.37 grams) for the bracelet and 11.9 dwt (18.5 grams), totaling 20.5 dwt (31.8 grams). In excellent condition, with no wear to note, c. 1940s. We both fell in love with this master carved, high relief ivory angel! Look at that lifelike lifelike cherubic face dont you just want to pinch her little cheeks? Decorated with beautifully crafted roses in her hair and finished with finely detailed wings, the brooch measures a good sized 2 Ό. Fitted with 14K clasp and pinstem, it is in excellent condition, with the only note a minute flake off the top right feather in the wing, of little consequence but mentioned for accuracy. Three large, 10mm Bohemian garnets in a clover motif form the centerpiece of this Victorian crossover bangle bracelet. Smaller, 3.5mm rose cut garnets encrust the restof the bangle. The clover centerpiece measures 13/16 x Ύ, the rest is 1/8 wide. Large enough to fit most wrists, the inside is 2 ½ x 2. Done in typical garnet gold, it weighs 13.4 dwt (20.8 grams) and is in excellent condition, with the only item to note a bit of solder that secures the garnet clover cluster to the top. A romantic, 14K yellow gold Edwardian era necklace, with a center heart shaped gold openwork medallion from which dangles 3 genuine amethyst gems two lovely faceted hearts and a center kite shaped one. This showy Victorian locket has a gorgeous, raised naturalist bow motif front - the center of the bow is a genuine 1 carat (5mm) ruby and on the tail of the bow are bands of sprinkled rose cut diamonds. It is finished with a wonderful fleur de lis bale. Unmarked, but tested as 14K, it has a rich patina and measures 3 from the top of the bale to the end of the ribbon x 1 3/8 wide x ½ deep. It weighs 14.5 dwt (22.5 grams) and opens to reveal a compartment with original frame for photos or hair. In overall excellent condition though please note the interior glass is missing and the missing there is a slight dent to the back clearly visible in the photos. Lined in cream velvet, it has a lovely shape and feel it just screams quality. It measures 3 2/8 x 2 1/8 x 1 5/16 high and weighs 62.8 dwt (97.6 grams). Fully hallmarked for Mappin & Webb, as well as with the Birmingham anchor, lion passant and date mark for 1922. Founded in 1774 by Jonathan Mappin, Mappin & Webb remains one of the UK's leading retailers of fine jewelry and silverware today and is silversmith to the Queen. Excellent example of an Art Deco era line bracelet from noted maker Diamonbar. Specializing in bracelets and bangles, Diamonbar was the trademark of the Wachenheimer Brothers Co., a Providence jewelry firm that was founded in 1909 and ceased operations in the early part of the 1930s. Collectors just love these bracelets and for good reason, they are very well made and such fun to wear! I love this one with its perfectly matched, bold red glass jewels in ornately engraved box settings. It measures 7 long x 5/16 and the stones are a big 8mm x 8mm. It weighs 19.8 dwt (30.7 grams) and is marked Diamonbar as well as Sterling. In excellent condition, the patina is as found, you can polish if you choose. A graceful, detailed feather pin accented with a glowing 4mm pearl from the Newark jewelry company, Wordley, Allsopp & Bliss. They were succeeded by Wordley-Bliss in 1915, so this pin pre-dates that time. It measures 2 3/8 x 5/16 and weighs 2.4 dwt (3.73 grams). The detail is very fine, the feather looks real and while simple, it is very attractive on. WAB jewels are at last coming into their own they are becoming very collected as the quality stands up to any of the other jewelers of the era. A pretty Art Nouveau style brooch from Binder Bros. of New York, done in 14K yellow gold and set with a gorgeous center amethyst stone that measures 13mm x 10mm. It is accented with 4 3mm pearls and pretty gold lotus leaves. It measures 1 5/16 x 1 1/8 and is fitted to the back with a safety clasp. Having trouble definitively dating this one, but it is gorgeous no matter the age. The amethyst is the perfect color purple not too dark nor too light and the brooch is very well constructed. The brooch weighs 3.8 dwt (5.9 grams). In excellent condition, with no wear to note, hallmarked 14K and the interlocking letter Bs in circles for Binder Brothers. #RFP-MM181 Rare Large Jazz Age Nude Cameo Signed & Dated
Mounted simply in polished 14K, the star of this showy pin/pendant is certainly the star of this piece. The carving depicts a nude woman gamboling in the forest such an unusual subject! Artist signed with initials (looks like an entwined CHP) and dated 1926, this is a large piece, measuring 2 5/16 x 1 7/16. The frame (which I think is later than the carving) is unmarked but tested 14K, it has a simple c clasp and heavy fold over bale. In excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or hairlines, some softening to the carving the only item to note and it could use a cleaning. It weighs 8.7 dwt (13.5 grams).
When I first saw this, for some reason I immediately thought of Daisy Buchanan or Zelda Fitzgerald, the subjects bobbed hair is so indicative of the Jazz Age and I can imagine F. Scott and Zelda playing nude hide and seek in the woods : ) Anyway, no matter the subject, it is an unusual cameo sure to please! Certified to be as described and to be authentic antique jewelry.
