This elegant, Art Nouveau aquamarine and pearl festoon necklace is so feminine! A large large tear drop 7mm aquamarine colored stone dangles from an engraved, whiplash form 14K center set with seed pearls and topped with a smaller, 5mm round aquamarine colored stone. The original 14K yellow gold swag chain is set with two additional 5mm bezel mounted aquamarines and four 8mm Mississippi river pearls. The pendant section measures 1 ¼” x 1 ¼” and the necklace measures 17 ½” overall. All the aguamarines are probably lab stones, which would have been typical for the period. It weighs 6.2 dwt (9.6 grams) and is unmarked, but tested and guaranteed 14K. In excellent condition, with no wear to note, circa 1910. A beautiful full face portrait of an Egyptian woman done in 14Kyellow gold with a glowing, untouched patina. Great detail – check out her elaborate diamond adorned headdress (two 1.8 mm genuine sparkling white diamonds) and wonderful scarab necklace! The head of the pin measures ½” x 11/16”, with the total length of 2 ¼” overall. A perfect example of the Egyptian revival period of the 1880’s, this brooch is done in 14K yellow gold. It features a turquoise faience scarab, guarded by a pair of Sphinx. At the top is an arch of three lotus flowers and the base is spread, gold scarab wings! Pearl accents complete the pin, which measures 1 3/16” x 1 ½”. A really cool mythological dragon creature watch pin! He looks fierce with his demantoid garnet eye and clutching a natural pearl in his mouth but I assure you he is a friendly, good luck dragon. The gold work is detailed and his green enamel is perfect. The clasp shows a worn mark for 14K and maybe a makers mark as well, but it is too worn to read. The chatelaine watch hook is a bonus feature. It measures 1” x 1 1/8”and weighs 3.1 dwt (4.8 grams). The locket is in excellent condition with the original felt background covered by glass on the inside. The chain is 20 ½” long and the locket is 7/8” around. It is marked 18ct (English mark for 18k) and opens to reveal the original frames, with the original bale and nice double thumb clasp openers. It sports 25 tiny natural pearls scattered on the border, along with two larger baroque one. Marked 14K, along with the maker’s mark for Bippart, Griscom and Osborn, a famous Newark NJ jewelry firm that crafted some of the finest gold jewelry of the American Art Nouveau period. The pendent tested 14k and has no other marks but obviously from a fine maker, with detailed workmanship - the pin unscrews when worn as a necklace. The natural pearl measures 6.9mm and the diamonds are approx 4mm and 2.5mm. Fitted on an 18” chain, the pendent measures 1 1/8” x 1 3/8”, it is a weighty 9.3 dwt (14.4 grams).
